Child Safety Standards

LocShare (developed by PubLocShare) has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) of any kind. This page describes our standards and practices for preventing, detecting, and reporting CSAE, in line with Google Play's child safety standards policy.

Zero Tolerance

LocShare prohibits any content or behavior that sexualizes, endangers, or exploits minors. Any account found engaging in such behavior is permanently removed, and reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and/or law enforcement as required by law.

Who Can Use LocShare

• LocShare is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
• Every account requires phone number verification via SMS — there is no anonymous or guest access.
• Messaging and location sharing always require an accepted connection between two users (either an existing mutual contact or an accepted connect request) — there are no public chat rooms, and a full profile (including any photo and exact location) is never visible without one.
• LocShare does include opt-in discovery features (Mutuals, tag search, and Open Discovery) that can surface a limited profile — display name, interest tags, and other self-authored profile content — to people who are not yet connected, so they can decide whether to connect. That limited pre-connection view never includes a photo, exact location, or the ability to message.

Blocking

Any user can block another user directly from their profile in the app. Blocking is enforced on our servers, not just hidden in the app's interface: a block immediately and permanently cuts off messaging, location sharing, discovery/search visibility, and proximity notifications between the two accounts in both directions, and retroactively hides prior conversation history from the blocked party.

Reporting

Any user can report another user directly from their profile in the app, selecting a category (including "Safety concern") and providing details. Safety-concern reports are routed for priority review. You can also report a concern, including CSAE, directly by emailing us:

Reports are reviewed by our team. Where a report indicates a real risk to a child's safety, or evidence of CSAE, we will remove the offending account and report it to NCMEC and/or law enforcement.
